Looking For An Entry-Level Drone? This Is One Of Our Favorites
by Innovative Deals
If you’re looking for a fantastic entry-level drone–for you or your classroom–the Holy Stone HS170 Predator is worth a look, and Amazon is retailing them for $39.99.
We don’t talk much about drones (or ‘quadcopters” if you prefer), but they’re gradually becoming less technological outliers and a bit more mainstream. They have application in the classroom, primarily in STEM lessons, but certainly in other applications as well with a little imagination (monitoring local traffic patterns in project-based learning anyone?)
If you’re going to grab one, know that the run-time of drones this size is not long–almost always less than 10 minutes. This makes an extra set of batteries a good idea–something like the 5pcs Tenergy 3.7V.
You can see a short setup and fly-through in the video below.
Commerce Content is independent of Editorial and Advertising.
In an effort to gradually shift from away from ads and other forms of “interrupting” marketing, we’re turning to affiliate efforts like these above to replace advertising dollars which support TeachThought and everything we do, as we are small, teacher-run, and self-funded. What this means for you is that if you click on something and purchase it, we may get an (indefensibly small) percentage of the sale. If you want to make sure that doesn’t happen and all revenue goes to the retailer/vendor, simply take our recommendation (which we take very seriously) and search for it on your own without using the link. Regardless of any affiliate membership, we never recommend any product or service we don’t find worth recommending. (A, that’d be lame, B, it’d give us bad karma, and C, you’d eventually stop trusting our recommendations so it’d be self-defeating).
